Sustainability in focus

Hedemora Eco-Municipality is implementing successful initiatives for a sustainable society. We provide education and training to ensure that our women and men have the same opportunities and feel welcome in our community.
We make use of our resources and invest for the future (broadband, housing, renewable energy, biosphere reserve and eco-museum). We have lovely small schools and preschools with good results and where we serve tasty, healthy food. We cherish our cultural heritage and our history. We take responsibility for our future.

 

Targeted food initiative

Hedemora is at the forefront when it comes to providing organic food for our children, young people and elderly. There is a strong consciousness about nature here and a strong commitment to safeguarding it. During the harvest, the first weekend in September, over 40 food artisans, farm shops, cafés and restaurants welcome visitors to enjoy delicious taste experiences for the entire family.
