Älvkarleby Municipality

Älvkarleby is located at the top of Uppland, surrounded by both sea and rivers. Almost 9,500 people live happily here. The Dalälven River flows through the municipality, from south to north. At the estuary east of Skutskär, the river meets the sea, and the great sport fishing downstream of the Älvkarleby Falls attracts visitors from both near and far. There are 23,500 meters of road and 9,000 meters of biking and walking paths in Älvkarleby Municipality, many of which lead to the Dalälven or Bodaån rivers or to the sea. Bandy has a long tradition here as well, especially in Skutskär. In 2018, the women’s team took a sensational gold in the Swedish Championships.
