Sustainability in focus

Sandviken works to create a living environment that meets the requirements for long-term sustainability. Under the tagline “Sandviken Pure Power,” the municipality works with the business community and academia from all over the world to create a fossil-free society. Sandviken is also part of the “Sustainable Entrepreneurship” network, which works to strengthen small and mid-sized businesses and associations to help them come farther in their sustainability work. The municipality works with social entrepreneurship regarding integration at Högbo Bruk.
 

 

Biosphere Municipality

Nedre Dalälven River Landscape Biosphere Reserve, with its high culture and nature values, has great potential to promote social and economic sustainability in the area. Vi i Gysinge is an association of business owners and people working to develop a sustainable hospitality and tourism industry. The development group in Österfärnebo and Färnebo folk high school work to further the district’s social and economic progress regarding sustainability.
