Welcome to our cozy B&B in one of the “newer” buildings in Bruket, built in 1809. The B&B is housed in the historical Lövstabruk ironworks, which date back to the 1600s, located on road 76 between Uppsala and Gävle. Our guests love the home-like environment here, where they can enjoy a delicious breakfast and settle down in the garden with a good book.
The spacious rooms at Gamla Brukshandeln Bed&Breakfast have comfortable beds and amazing views over the ironworks. The Uppland Trail passes Lövstabruk, so download the app and start planning your hike – sections 12, 13 and 14. We are constantly refurbishing our home to its historical roots, looking for furniture, carpets, lighting and porcelain at auctions, antique stores, online or at flea markets. It feels important to reuse and recycle. Heirlooms and furniture from friends and relatives also have their place here at Gamla Brukshandeln B&B. The furniture is renovated, reupholstered and refreshed using lindseed oil paint. We clean with Gysinge lindseed oil soap whenever possible. We recycle everything that can be recycled and collect food waste in our own hot compost. Summertime at the mill offers a wide range of cultural offerings, as well as guided tours at the Gysinge Manor, art exhibitions, crafts shops and courses, a preserved historical carpentry shop and blacksmith residence, and much more. Directions: If you’re travelling by car from the south, you can take road 290 north of Uppsala via Österbybruk (windy road) or via Tierp and Skärplinge (straighter road). Free parking inside the yard. You can also travel by train to Tierp and then by bus to Lövstabruk via Skärplinge. The bus stop is called Barnens Bruk and is located just outside our house. A warm welcome from Barbro and Thomas Nyberg!
