Welcome to northern Europe’s most important breeding center for the preservation of European bison. European bison are a highly endangered species. After World War I, there were only about 50 bison left in Europe. But things look different today, due in part to the efforts of Avesta Bison Park. There are currently about 25 bison at Avesta Bison Park. If you’re lucky, you might get to see one of the 4-8 calves born here each year. Avesta Bison park is suitable for the entire family. There's a cozy café in the old barn where you can enjoy a Swedish fika or a nice lunch. And there's plenty of things to do for children like swings, a play house and other outdoor/garden activities. There's guided tours on sundays at 10:50 AM and 1:10 PM. No reservations needed.
