The building that now houses Säters Stadshotell has authentic, historic origins. It was built in the 1630s as housing for the foremen in the copper works. The copper works along Ljusterån were built on the initiative of Gustav II Adolf and were the basis for his decision to grant Säter its town charter in 1642.
