The Sport Fishing License is valid for most of the lakes in the fishery conservation area, with the exception of the game fishing lakes (Björshyttsjön and Myggtjärn) in Nisshyttan, which have their own fishing license (day license).
In the waters covered under the Sport Fishing License, catch-and-release is recommended. In our game fishing lakes (Björshyttsjön and Myggtjärn), catch and release is not permitted. Around the Ljustern lake in central Säter, there are ten jetties for public use, three of which are disabled-accessible. The easiest way to buy a license is digitally via iFiske, and your license will be sent directly to your phone. If you would like to purchase a physical fishing license, you can do that at Säters Camping, the Ingo service station, or the Frendo shop in Säter.
