Säter’s fishery conservation area association (FVOF) consists of over 60 lakes, ponds and creeks. Sea fishing dominates, but the association also has a number of other watercourses, with Ljusterån and part of Dalälven as the largest/longest rivers. In addition to the fishing itself, the fishery conservation area also offers exciting wilderness experiences, as many of the lakes are located in the forest landscape far from urban areas. But attractive waters can also be found within comfortable walking and cycling distance from central Säter and Säters Camping. You’ll find a comprehensive list of our fish species – which and where – on our website (fiskaisater.se). The fishery conservation area also manages two lakes, which are stocked continuously with rainbow trout (brown trout if available). A special fishing license is required for these lakes. Brown trout are stocked in Ljustern, near central Säter but a “regular” sport fishing license applies here. In addition to the more rarely caught trout, perch and pike are often the goal for Ljustern anglers. A good supply of smelt regularly results in perch over one kilo. The Säter fishery conservation area association (SFVOF) works with long-term management of our waters and fishing. Visit our website, www.fiskaisater.se, for more information about what we do – and plan to do. SFVOF wishes you a fantastic fishing trip!
