Our collections display everything from buttons, tins and radios, to buses, cars, caravans, and bicycles of various kinds. The Nostalgia Museum is located in the village of Domarbo just a few kilometers east of the white ironworks, Strömsbergs Bruk, just outside Tierp. The Nostalgia Museum has, among other things, technology rooms, vehicles, and an old-fashioned general store.
Our museum is also a story about collecting and a living example of how it’s not always a bad thing to be a collector! Ever since he was little, Bosse has had a hard time throwing things away. He began his life as a serious collector in the 1960s. In the beginning, he only showed his collections to friends and acquaintances, but about fifteen years ago, Bosse and Margareta decided to open their museum to the public. Our “general store” comes from Forsa in Hälsingland and once upon a time belonged to Bosse’s uncle and grandfather. It shows an old-fashioned village shop and how things looked back in the old days. And you can still buy sweets in paper cones right over the counter. All of the toys Bosse has been saving since his childhood are especially close to his heart. The moped mounted on a bicycle is one such example. There is a playground for children outside the museum. Due to the risk of fire, there is a Strict Smoking Ban both inside and near the premises! Dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed. Photographs for private use are fine. For other uses, please contact the staff.
