Welcome to the Gysinge hostel, close to nature and offering many opportunities for recreation and new experiences. Located on the second floor of Gysingehemmet, the hostel has nine cozy newly renovated rooms, with a shared kitchen, living room, toilets and showers. Our lush garden also has a barbecue area and outdoor seating. This is the perfect place to stay if you enjoy hiking, bicycling and nature, or if you want to explore the old ironworks area or just take it easy. The Gästrikeleden hiking trail is just around the corner from the hostel, and through the trees you can see the Nedre Dalälven river. After a short walk through the forest and the old railway embankment, you’ll reach the majestic former railway bridges spanning the Lower Dalälven River. The hostel is also close to the Gysinge Nature Reserve and Färnebofjärden National Park, with its famous eagle-viewing station. Next to the hostel are the Galleri Blå art gallery, the Loppis & Antikt antique store, and the Gysinge Brewery, which offers beer tastings. Just a five-minute walk away, near the Gysinge Hergård manor house, you’ll find a historic industrial area, an old-fashioned store and gift shop, a café and restaurant, a conference center offering courses, and sometimes markets, food events, entertainment, and art exhibitions. Take the chance to visit Gysinge Centrum för Byggnadsvård, a building care and hardware shop with beautiful exhibits. The hostel is open all year!

Included: Accommodation at the hostel. In two-, three- or four-bed rooms. Shared kitchen and living room. Showers, laundry room, and toilets in the hall. Waste recycling. Eating areas and a barbecue in the garden. Cribs, baby-changing tables and highchairs are available. Free parking. Wi-Fi. Sheets, towels, and cleaning are available for a fee. Charcoal is not included. No elevator.

The area offers a rich variety of nature experiences. We’re always happy to help with hiking, boating, and cycling suggestions, as well as tips on other things to do and see in the area. The hostel is unfortunately not wheelchair-accessible because there is no elevator in the building and the hostel is on the second floor.
