Lövstabruk in northern Uppland dates back all the way to the 1500s and was once one of the world’s foremost mills and Sweden’s largest ironworks. From the early 1600s through 1986, Lövstabruk was owned by the de Geer family. The Leufsta Foundation was subsequently established, and now manages large parts of the buildings and conducts hospitality and tourism activities there. You will find the beautiful 16th century manor house here, which offers guided tours and is surrounded by a park, orangery and mill street. The celebrated Cahman organ is preserved in the church here, and you can also visit artist studios, mill archives and art exhibitions. There is also a café, and younger visitors will love the popular “Children’s Mill.” A full-day excursion destination for the entire family, in other words!
